38 year-old British architectural artist Stephen Wiltshire draws from memory. When we say he draws from memory, these photos show him sketching out the entire New York City skyline after viewing it in just one helicopter ride!! So it may come as no surprise his nickname is ‘The Human Camera’….
Stephen has been diagnosed with autism and in this piece in the New York Times his sister describes how it was through his art that Stephen learned to read and write and communicate with others. His stunning talent just goes to show (once again!!) how the creative arts can open up windows to learning which might otherwise be inaccessible to many talented people.
Read more in the New York Times and do check out Stephen’s website.
