Yesterday we opened our doors for the 2nd time, this time to a host of Rehauhetswe’s youth, eager to learn more about self-portraiture.  Self-portraits provide an excellent opportunity for students to learn a little bit about anatomy, but more importantly it gives these youth a way to study themselves, raise their self-awareness and thus their levels of self-confidence.  The youth’s favourite part of the class was certainly the blind contour drawing, where they were challenged to look only in the mirror, not at their paper.  The kids were in stomach-crunching hysterics!  Certainly a highlight of our day at DN!
