Image of the Week: the Free State (where we work in South Africa) on a cold winter’s day. Beautiful blue skies, but at night the horizon is flooded with coal & mealie-husk smoke. Burning dry mealie (corn) husks for fuel is the only way to keep warm on a limited budget in Africa.
